In the 4 years I dealt with Peel CAS I had heart ache, disappointment and dis pare. I called the CAS for help with my child's ADHD, they say they keep families together, give support, but in reality they don't . They took my child, put him on phycotic drugs which he is dependant on now until i can get a psychiatrist to see him (Aug of 2007) they alter the mind . I argued with them for three and a half years, then I got a lawyer to fight for me, I had him home in less than 3 months. They cut off phone calls, visits for months at a time, is this in the best interest of the child...NO...children need their parents....This is an agency that needs to be closed down. Ontario is the only province in Canada that has no one to hold them accountable, I wait for the day BILL 88 is passed to get the Ombudsman into investigated the cruelty on our children that they are allowing. If anyone is in need of help please feel free to ask, if I don't know it, I will try my best to find it........BRING OUR CHILDREN HOME

here is a great link www.canadacourtwatch.com/CAS%20Files/ChildrensAid.htmpeople need to realize that The CAS has flaws and the only possible way to fix these flaws is to have an outside independent agency watching over them. even our police have to answer to an independent body. why is it that the CAS does not .

A great point Dean, we are hoping that BILL 88 gets passed, it has already been through one reading, 2 more and it will be passed. This BILL 88 will give the ombudsman the authority to investigate the CAS, instead of the CAS investigating themselves. This won't stop the CAS from their corrupt ways of dealing with families, but it will put some sort of accountability on this organization. Our children are being killed, abused, and tortured in the care of this corrupt agency and we have to advicate for them.

If you have concerns about your child or someone else's who is being drugged, please email couricandco@cbs.com they will be doing a story on the effects of this type of abuse against our children. The more voices heard the better chance we have to save our children from this type of abuse. Are doctors making money by prescribing these toxic drugs to our children, we wont know until we voice out concerns.

NEWSNovember 2006 (Ontario) - Child welfare regulations: The Child and Family Services Act which regulates child welfare services in Ontario received extensive amendments with the passing of Bill 210 in March 2006. The amendments will change the way child welfare services are delivered throughout the province. Although Bill 210 received royal ascent over six months ago, staff at the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (the Ministry) say it will not come into force until regulations they drafted over the summer are made public in November. Some of the regulations will specify which matters can be dealt with under section 68 of the Act which deals with child welfare service complaints -- a provision Ontario's Ombudsman, Andre Marin demonstrated a keen interest in during a related committee hearing on December 6, 2005 where he is quoted as saying; "Not only is the Office of the Ombudsman of Ontario not taken advantage of, it is totally ignored. Bill 210 removes the jurisdiction of the Ombudsman of Ontario over directors' decisions by abolishing directors' reviews under subsection 68(3) ". Upon publication of the regulations, the Foster Care Council of Canada will consult with child welfare stakeholders in order to obtain their feedback on the regulations -- something the Ministry actively avoided during the drafting process -- and will produce a report which will be presented to the Minister and published on the Council's web site at www.afterfostercare.caMarch 28, 2006 (Ontario) - BILL 210 changing child welfare in Ontario: Bill 210 was a proposal to change the way child welfare is delivered in Ontario by amending the existing Child and Family Services Act (the Act) and was introduced to the Legislative Assembly in June, 2005. After much public consultation and committee deliberation, Bill 210 passed third reading and was enacted on March 28, 2006. Regulations being drafted - Although Bill 210 was passed, it will not be in effect until November, 2006 when the Ministry of Children and Youth Services publishes the subordinate regulations. What does Bill 210 do? - Bill 210 will allow for open adoptions in Ontario under the title of "openness agreements" and other arrangements instead of having to terminate parental access to the child to allow an adoption to take place. The bill also changes the way Children's Aid Societies (CAS) in Ontario deal with service complaints. For one thing all CAS's in the province will have to follow the same, publicly available complaint procedure under section 68 here is a full copy of the act www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/DBLaws/Statutes/English/90c11_e.htm#BK104

Hey CasCritic
A person MSN'ed me today and this is what they had to say about your post in their exact words. I feel maybe you should answer it.. But also the person that left the MSN should register and post to you as long as it is not bashing anyone I will leave the post up and not delete it. how ever I feel that debating is ok.
anyway heres what was said..
(from your site -- i found this interesting --- ""Are doctors making money by prescribing these toxic drugs to our children, we wont know until we voice out concerns. "" i know the doctor i have for the kids --- REFUSE meds --- unless needed --- the teachers here --- force parents to get dr's notes to prove the kids dont need drugs or try convincing parents to put drugs into their kids because the teachers cant handle them take that to your "FRIEND")
I'm not sure that the teaching profesionals would agree to this but every one has an opinon. Myself I feel if a teacher is feeling this way they are in the wrong line of work. There is no difference between Ridalin and and illegal drug its still dopeing your children and its wrong.
just my opinion

Teachers are not Dr's and cannot give your child any drugs just because they can't deal with the child, sounds like you do have a great Dr. Also you are right there is no difference between the drugs, Ritalin is speed on the street, one of the side effects of this drug is turretts syndrome, you are right not to give this street drug to your child. Once you get your Dr to tell the school they are not Dr's and he will not give drugs for just any reason, they will back down im sure.......your opinion is a good one.
