GUATEMALA CITY - Peng Peng Lee of Toronto completed an impressive showing at the Junior Pan American gymnastics championships with a silver medal performance Sunday on women's floor.
Mattie Larson of the U.S., won the gold medal with 14.925 points, Lee followed at 14.450 and Jordan Wieber of the U.S., was third at 14.300. Jessica Savona of Mississauga, Ont., was seventh.
"The judges were impressed with Peng Peng's artistry," said Canadian team manager Helene Laliberte. "Her elements were precise and she achieved great height with her acrobatic manoeuvres."
On beam, Wieber and Chelsea Davis of the U.S., were 1-2. Lee took sixth spot and Dominique Pegg of Sarnia, Ont., was seventh.
In Saturday's vault final, Pegg won the gold medal with Lee second. Both gymnasts also helped Canada to the team silver medal to open the competition on Friday with Savona and Emma Willis of Sarnia.
Ive been keeping tabs on Dominique Pegg of Sarnia, Ont this young girl is winning golds at every comp she is attending. but she is not getting the spotlight in the local paper she deserves. so I'm saying go girl see you in the next Olympics
