I filed Small Claims Court suit for false arrest, etc. against a police force in a nearby town.
By Thursday, I need to present my "List of Witnesses", as well as any evidence that I intend to present at trial.
I would very much like to find some articles, or statements or whatever else may be useful regarding how police forces, particularly in Southwestern Ontario, have been far too eager to use the zero tolerance policy.
For any who may not know, "zero tolerance" is the (probably unwritten) rule that police use when a Domestic Violence allegation occurs. Regardless of whether there is any evidence to support the allegations or not, the man in the relationship is almost always arrested, in order to protect the usually more fragile female victim from potential abuse.
I have spoken to an Inspector at my police force and he readily admitted that they use the "zero tolerance" policy. I couldn't get that recorded however, and I have a feeling the Inspector may not be quite so forthcoming on the stand, even though I intend to call him as a witness.
Any information showing the fact that police use the "zero tolerance" policy would be very much appreciated.
