many people say dont sign medical releases etc, IMO this is wrong the more things you refuse to do the worse it looks for you getting deemed unco-operitive is not what you want, there is a happy medium that will work to your advantage
1) sign any and all release required and on the other end LIMIT what those people can talk about IE: I signed for my doctor but on his end my release clearly stated that he could only answer about my meds and stability nothing else in the eyes of the supervsior and court I was cooperating
2) when you document things dont only document what they say, document what you say as well as how you "percieved" the tone of voice of the worker do NOT state she was rude state "I percieved her tone as rude"
3) When you are asked the same thing for the 20th time say "we have already went over that" and go on to the next topic
4) bring your documentation to court
5) do not skip visits for any reason
6) do NOT nitpick every little thing there are bigger issues than weather or not garbage was on the floor (thats an example)
7) remember the goal is to get your kids home as fast as possible the more you fight and argue the longer it will take, you can fight the minor stuff after
8) do NOT talk down about the fosterparents to the child at all, remember your child has to live with them. Its a confusing time for them as is do NOT dd it to if you have an issue with take it up with the worker
I know many people disagree with what I say but this worked for me I have custody of my child becasue I jumped the hoops and at the same made issues of the big stuff (like getting told your bipolar how can you parent)
I picked my battles I didnt make a big deal over what I considered small but I was taken very seriosuly when I filed complaints over the big stuff
