As a candidate in the oct 4 2007 election for the The Family Coalition party. I keep getting asked what will or would change if elected. Simply said I have spent 4 years fighting for familyrights, been to hundreds of homes and spoken to 1000s all in regards to cas and CFSA. I thinks its time that we go back to prove your case first, assist families with more family friendly groups and services. Where accountability really meant that.
whereas Government obligations Government has a fundamental obligation to protect and promote the well being of the family and family members through measures of political, economic, social and juridical character, which aim at consolidating the unity and stability of the family.
whereas Children and Family Services The Family Coalition will limit the power of Children and Family Services (old CAS) and have their powers fall under the principles of fundamental justice. Due process, innocent until proven guilty, substantiated evidence, the right to face your accusers are some of the principles that must be re-established.
whereas Training Require child protective services workers to be trained in their duty to protect the statutory and constitutional rights of those they are investigating.
whereas Requirement to advise Require child protective services personnel to advise individuals subject to a child abuse and neglect investigation of the complaint or allegation made against them
whereas Citizen Review Panels Require "Citizen Review Panels" to provide for public outreach and comment in order to assess the impact of current procedures and practices upon children and families in the community and in order to meet its obligations.
I know that The Family Coalition party has its work cut out for them but we could make a differnce.
thank you
rob Ferguson (former NDPer)
candidate for the Family Coalition party Brant riding

TD Shelly Martel is pushing to have files opened and invetigated along with her party. NDP is the sole party that tried to pass any bills giving the Ombudsman some oversight to investigate and use due process with the CAS.
Rob who is the Chair for the Party in the Sarnia / Lambton Riding I may be interested in running. on your ticket.

Rob my main question on the The Family Coalition party's platform is the the civil libertys of gay couples. Im not gay but I feel if they are in a commited relationship they should be allowed all the rights and benifits of a married couple. how would my feelings on this affect my membeship with your party.

(feel free to help out here)(5 min.,not long enough)
We THE PEOPLE. shall go on to the end, we shall fight NATION WIDE, we shall fight IN PARLAMENT AND IN THE COMMONS, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength IN THE POEPLE, we shall defend our RIGHTS AND CHILDREN, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the STREETS, we shall fight IN THE MEDIA, we shall fight in the COURTS AND THE LEGISLATURE, we shall fight WITH GODS GRAND WISDOM, we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, THESE SELF OBSORBED,SELF SERVING, FASCAST, SADISTIC OPRESIVE TYRANTS, CANNOT BE OVERCOME ! AND EVEN IF, WE ARE SUBJUGATED TO CONTINUE TO BEING THEIR VICTIMS, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, with all HIS power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of US ALL! Wow the questions and response
td said in his first post "NDP-Er) I used to believe in their message but now its been too long. MPP with the NDP Andrea Horwath has tried to help yes. Even when we did our rally at Queens Park last june, she was the MPP who assisited us all the way. But here in Brant the NDP riding Association has had many problems from fighting within the Association to always voting in past candidates. I just think the family coalition party has a better and strong family value then the NDP. to answer Dean Robinsons post. as I said above the only person or MPP who has fought for child and family rights is Andrea Horwath, of course supported by a great man Howard Hampton who also gave great support at our rally, with clearing security, making sure we had everything we needed. So a personal thank you from me to both of them again. Dean if you notice on the website of the FCP there are blank spots in the candidates section. The Ontario government sort of reformmatted riding Associations and just now most smaller parties have to re-establish their Association. This means that most but not all ridings that are blank do not have an Association or candidate. You must contact the FCP to have a package sent to you about starting an Association and most manuals needed to run as a candidate. Im starting to see some faces ive seen fighting for familyrights such as a lawyer who has fought for families for years consider running. I personally encourage you to run dean. As for your other question about gays. lets look at it abitand this is how I feel and there are going to be people who do not agree with me. first there is not a person in a party that agrees 100 percent with the everything the party policy states. However lets chat about it. A family is defined as those individuals related by ties of blood, marriage or adoption. Marriage is the union between a woman and a man. The Family Coalition party would revoke all legislation that re-defined the term “spouse” to include same-sex persons, within the limits imposed by federal law. The bible says thy man thy wife, wedding vowes say and traditionaly state husband and wife. One mother one father simple. An example is a child taken by cas is in a foster home at an early age. Who is the childs mother or father? certainly not the foster parent. By allowing same sex marriages it would be the same as allowing foster parent to instruct foster kids to call them mom or dad. One father one mother. I have nothing against gays as people and do respect laws protected under federal law just I have seen it on the street guy kissing guys and vise versa and children often see this and wonder, thats why I do support FCP in going back to traditional values(man and wife, thy husband thy wife not thy man thy man or man and man). The FCP is not attacking gays personaly just presenting a traditional point of view. Keep this in mind if you had two male dogs in the home that were HMMMM having sex in front of your children would it be normal then why is it cosidered normal with humans. The provincal government can not over turn the federal laws or change charter or bill of rights. But they can change some provincal legislation to be traditional. Such as CAS must prove their case before an apprehention. Your personal feeling would not have to affect on membership. once again you can not agree with everything your parties platform states however overall you should support them. You can disagree with some areas of their platform and yet still support them overall and be a good candidate.
I know there are people who don't agree with me but this is canada opinions matter.

Dean ,
remember you asked me to write to Frank Klees in regard to York CAS. I wrote to both : Julia Munro and Frank Klees . Julia's office never asknowledge correspondence. It is like a black hole. Never heard from them.
I wrote on Christmas. So far I received an email from Frank Klees office that they will contact me when the time allows.
The odd is that Frank Klees will be running in 2007 elections for Aurora - Newmarket and I live in Newmarket.
