Cork As a candidate in the oct 4 2007 election for the The Family Coalition party. I keep getting asked what will or would change if elected. Simply said I have spent 4 years fighting for familyrights, been to hundreds of homes and spoken to 1000s all in regards to cas and CFSA. I thinks its time that we go back to prove your case first, assist families with more family friendly groups and services. Where accountability really meant that. whereas Government obligations Government has a fundamental obligation to protect and promote the well being of the family and family members through measures of political, economic, social and juridical character, which aim at consolidating the unity and stability of the family. whereas Children and Family Services The Family Coalition will limit the power of Children and Family Services (old CAS) and have their powers fall under the principles of fundamental justice. Due process, innocent until proven guilty, substantiated evidence, the right to face your accusers are some of the principles that must be re-established. whereas Training Require child protective services workers to be trained in their duty to protect the statutory and constitutional rights of those they are investigating. whereas Requirement to advise Require child protective services personnel to advise individuals subject to a child abuse and neglect investigation of the complaint or allegation made against them whereas Citizen Review Panels Require "Citizen Review Panels" to provide for public outreach and comment in order to assess the impact of current procedures and practices upon children and families in the community and in order to meet its obligations. I know that The Family Coalition party has its work cut out for them but we could make a differnce. thank you rob Ferguson (former NDPer) candidate for the Family Coalition party Brant riding

Rob has never been to Sarnia Lambton in his life so how can he repersent an area he knows NOTHING about? As for all the family stuff in here, his children are being protected from him with GOOD reason. you should know the facts before you stand behind someone and if you knew all the facts you would turn the other way.

I don't think your understanding something about this board. Its not reserved to just people from Sarnia as a mater of fact I do believe there is only a handful of people from the Sarnia that post in the CAS area of this board. Now Rob may not be from this Area, But I am and I know the facts of the situation and believe me I know the facts of the Sarnia Lambton area. I fail to see were Rob has stated anything about representing Sarnia. I ran in the city election so I could get an understanding of the election process, here the funny thing, I did not a bit of campaigning, no signs, no radio, no community TV. I emailed a few people and talked on a board thats it and managed to be only short 2000 votes. I'm now thinking of going after a provincial spot but this Time I'm ready to campaign. for what party that remains to be seen.

Your right never really had much out in saria although I did visit a few parents out that way to chat about CFSA. It is weird that a worker for brant cas who recently was fined AGAIN by the college of social work lives in Sarnia Lambton. Once again I had nothing to do with you being fined. My children are not being protected from me. I have not lost and as promised if elected my promises are first to honour my party and second to replace Provincial exuctives with more family friendly people.
Id would like to thank you guest for your comment but once again do know what im talkng about. As a candidate my life becomes public info including harassment by others and wrong doings in my case. I will answer all questions at any time so guest email me rfergusonca2@hotmail.com
ps guest why hide your ident if you have nothing to hide. All my post appear in court and are logged for media relations later

Thanks for clearing that up Rob. I knew you would respond in an educated manner. As Ive stated here before there are CAS workers and government officials visiting the board. they come here and troll for the purpose of dividing our attempts to unite as one large group. don't let them get to you.

so which party has been asked if they are elected they will give the osbudman over site of CAS? and every time that person name needs to be recorded as a yes or no that they will make sure this is done and also get them to give most of the CAS funding over to a organization that actually helps kids and families that needs money to expand to more areas and have more services available to families,, they are called Children's First and are awesome and on the other end of CAS totally they are funded by Mental Health we really need to push this along and these are ppl that can be held accountable at several levels if they do not do their mandate , but I can say that they are a # 1 organization for families and children..let CAS do the job of child protection only nothing else and then Children's First can be the ones that help the families and support the families.

The family coalition party also beleives in the third party review panel. however it may come down to a cfsa tribunal. I recently spoke to an access supervisor in Brant who wished for the short term visit center instead of a 2 year visit plan a couple times a week. I do like the idea of a parent going to live in a home with their chidlren for a week or too to show their parenting skills. A one or two week stay is less intrusive then one or twice a week for 1 to three years.

So im guessing the house will be monitored with cameras so they can watch and just pick out the bad stuff, thats what they do....oh and if this is being monitored why arent the group homes wired with cameras, that would stop alot of the abuse they HAVE to put up with.
