I am going to vote for Darren Nesbit and I hope a majority of people of Sarnia do to. If you like the way Sarnia's downtown is or the problems with sewer and other city works has I must say by all means please vote for the ones that hold the position now and keep the city in shambles as it is. The council we have now have not done anything to clean up the city or to create jobs and growth of the city. Why is it they cannot attract jobs that pay well or tourism that help the mom and pop business. The call centers have came but they aren't great jobs. Sure you have a major concert in town one weekend a year but what does that do for the economy for the other 51 weeks a year. So I believe change is needed and now is the time. How long have we hear about the revitalization of downtown before anything is done. I believe economic growth and population growth go hand in hand and when is the last time anyone has seen the the signs on the 402 change. How does a city function with the rising cost of maintenance without extra funds from new businesses and new residents? HIGHER TAXES!!! The biggest thing to the city and surrounding areas are the casinos. Sure they provide money to the city but with that also comes poverty and addiction. How about something more worthy of the city that will attract people to the area more and help the local economy. Sarnia is located in a beautiful area and we do nothing to attract people. Who's going to come to Sarnia for a vacation just to walk the boardwalk in Centennial Park. Thousands drive right by us on the 402 to use the Bluewater Bridge which is a great ploy for attraction but council does nothing to make them stop here to spend there money why? Why with the 402, the rail tunnel, the great lakes water ways and being a boarder town council has not be able to attract businesses to the community? These are some of the reasons I'll be voting for Darren Nesbit because I want to see this community to be the potential that it could and with a new young and strong voice in city council I believe that he can help make the changes that this city so needs and deserves. So vote Darren Nesbit he will make a difference!!!

I decided at the last minute to run again for council, I was the only candidate last election to ask questions that were too risky for anyone else to ask....you want action on council and someone that will not put up with any crap or back door bull....Glenn MacKinnon!!! Believe me when I say YOU WANT CHANGES, YOU GET CHANGES!!!! As for the previous post, I agree with you with pretty much everything you typed, wow, you should have run for office as well.

Give me a call, we'll do coffee or something and no I will not help you clean the carpets at Stoke's (inside joke)

I am Darren Nesbit, I'm 30 years old, born and raised in Sarnia. I have always been interested in the Political system and the open debating of Issues. I have the ability and dedication to gather all the facts to make informed decisions, my interaction with the government and education have put me in a position to help get to the heart of specific problems. I hold a 3-year Business Administration Diploma from Lambton College. Major: International Trade. For 5 years, I participated in a study for Fabry’s Disease. I have helped secure funding from the Governments for the treatment of this Disease. Everyone will see issues differently, some being more important then others but every case should be heard. If you would like to see about some of the Issues I care about, Please go to: www.sarnialambtonvotes.com/main/ns/69/doc/102I would just like to say that I believe in “Government by the People, For the People”. I would like the opportunity to represent the people of Sarnia. I believe that I have the heart and voice to be a vocal supporter for the people. If anyone would like to email me, it is: darrennesbit@hotmail.com On Nov.13.2006, Let Darren Nesbit's Voice !!! Be Yours!!!!!!!

Hey y'all! I've just read through this string and I do have a few things to say. I'll get to them sometime soon.
One thing I've noticed about these polls is that you can only choose one. It would be nice if you could choose four. (Just like on your ballot.)
I clicked on Fran Skelton's name for no other reason than the fact that I have known her all of my life. (Well for 43 years of it. LOL!)
I see her every single day because she is my mother's best friend. And her oldest son Steve was my best man when I got married. (24 years ago! YIKES!) -----
I'll make more prudent comments later. And the ballot counts on Nov. 13th will eventually tell all! ---------
Hey Glenn! Why haven't I seen you over on my board?
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

(((Glenn)))My official Campaign site is at www.geocities.com/sarnians(Still incomplete and evolving.)And my own Message Board is at sarnians.proboards60.com(You "MUST" join as a member in order to post. But I think (?) you can read other poster's messages without being a member.)(I say that because I am always logged in. I am not all that sure "at this moment" how it appears to non-members.) ---------- I can't wait to see you join in on some of the discussions that have already started there. And you can feel free to start your own discussions too. ---------- (FWIW. Everyone else is welcome there also. You don't need to be backing my Candidacy. In fact I welcome anyone that wishes to post messages that challenge my own ideas. (Any kind of "friendly" discussion on any issue is welcome!) ---------- My own Board rules are pretty much the same as Dean's are here. Be polite and do not sling insults at anyone! That not only applies to opinions about me, but about "anyone!" (Weather they are a Candidate or not.) ---------- I have already had to ban one person three times. (He keeps finding a different Computer to post from and rejoins.) At first he posted some very nasty things about Mike Bradley, and 2 other topics that IMHO had nothing to do with City Issues. (They were his own personal issues. Quite "graphic" and "hostile"!)He was warned several times! Then after I banned him the 1st time. He found some way to get back on, he started slamming me and one other present Councilor Candidate. I simply cannot allow this kind of conduct! I consider it quite unacceptable! And even worse, I see it as Jeopardizing the efforts that I am making. (For what they might be worth? ??) ---------- Peace! DG
