Andy, Darren and Glen look good, looking at Okan Z and weighing up Mike Keltch still.

I have already had to ban one person three times. (He keeps finding a different Computer to post from and rejoins.) At first he posted some very nasty things about Mike Bradley, and 2 other topics that IMHO had nothing to do with City Issues. (They were his own personal issues. Quite "graphic" and "hostile"!)He was warned several times! Then after I banned him the 1st time. He found some way to get back on, he started slamming me and one other present Councilor Candidate. I simply cannot allow this kind of conduct! I consider it quite unacceptable! And even worse, I see it as Jeopardizing the efforts that I am making. (For what they might be worth? ??) Well I certainly commend you for your authoritarian stance, sir. I suppose that conflicts with elected officials are inapproprate during an election campaign. I see that you steadfastly refuse to abandon your marxist roots. As for banning members from forums like these, it is a rather silly and futile exercise. IP banning is easily circumvented through the use of web proxies. And these proxy services are available in great abundance. They're a Godsend for those wishing to conceal their identity.

I like Andy and Mike as well. Anyone that frequents the Riverport Tavern, gets my vote. So Andy B. gets the nod. Also, anyone that chooses to use a Macintosh over a PC gets my vote, as they definitely think different. So Mike K. gets the nod.
Actually, to elaborate on that, I was a member of the local Macintosh Users Group for a couple of years in the nineties. Most people probably don't know this, but Mike Kelch was the treasurer of that group, and I found him to be very forthcoming and respectable. I've also been quite satisfied with his performance on city council. Mike Kelch is a critical thinker that is not afraid to ask questions when the questions need to be asked. So I think that Mike Kelch will always be a good choice for city council. Well, at least until he gets old and senile; then he's got to go.
Andy Bruziewicz is a down to Earth kind of fellow whom I first met at the Riverport Tavern on Front street. He's a man that will spend his time talking to you no matter who you are or where you happen to be. He is one of the few city councillors that I can honestly say takes a genuine interest in the voice of the people. Whether it be at a local bar, the library, or the Zehrs shopping mall, Andy is always accessable and willing to take the time to listen to the residents of the city. I have never known or seen him to be callous or arrogant, and he makes a good choice for city council because he is really one of the common folks.
I kind of like John Vollmar for some reason too. I'm not exactly sure why I'm leaning in his direction, but there's something about his style and attitude that appeals to me. I respect a person that is willing to get stomped on by his peers, and is not afraid to speak candidly about what is concerning him. I know that Mr. Vollmar has been getting a fair bit flack in recent times, and maybe that's why I'm giving him my vote this November.
I'm yet undecided on the rest.

Vollmar is a Joe Murray lackie.
I wouldn't vote for him, There are enough better people running. What has he done besides support Joe Murray and AMG. Rose Anne Nathan is another Joe Lackie, Sour grapes cause they can't beat Mike. They have their own agenda and it isn't Sarnia's!!!

So is Santa Claus, but I don't see you complaining about him hopping down your chminey every December. Anne-Marie Gillis I have absolutely no use for. I think she is a total waste. Has John Vollmar ever run against Mike? Then I'm sure it's not sour grapes on his part. This is Joe Murray's first attempt at unseating Mike, so I really don't feel it's sour grapes on his part either. Let's put a little common sense into our arguments, shall we? From the bulk of your posts, I get the impression that you're the one with the sour grapes. You apparently want to unseat everyone that disagree's with Mike. And that's something Sarnia definitely does not need or want. After all, a lot of local residents disagree with Mike.

I am an owner of a business. When I look for managers I look for enthusiasm and dedication. Everything else can abe taught when people have good work ethic. Mike Bradley may have lots of experience but he has become complacient in his role as city leader. I am voting for Joe Murray beacuse he wants to make things happen. I think you all have that person in your workplace who has been there forever and thinks they know everything. The don't like change and there zest for the job is non existent. This describes Mayor Bradley and it is time for a change.

I believe you may be right Sarnia Lifer in any major corporation they change the CEO on a regular basis. this is done be cause the shareholders know that fresh Ideas bring in new revenue.
I do have my fears With Joe but with a new young Council he may be a blessing to our City.
18 years is a long time to hold the position of mayor I'm not going to put all the blame on Mike because he is just the tie breaker. but we have to look at our aging council as well.
times are changing and so must the city of Sarnia
Thanks for posting Sarnia Lifer I hope to see more of your posts. we have allot of lurkers here that are looking at this election as a major change for our city and I know that some of them are looking for the input of people such as yourself.

The Mayor of the city is not just the tie-breaker. I hate it when people say that, because it shows just how truly uninformed they are.
The Mayor is the ambassador of the city. He is the person that residents choose to represent the city and set the agenda for the city. The person that is elected mayor is a direct reflection of those that choose to make him/her mayor. The mayor is the person that gets the press, meets and greets vips and important visitors, and so much more.
If the role of mayor was as simple as breaking ties in close votes, there'd be little need to have a mayor. So it really bothers me when people say that the mayor is just a tie-breaker; he is not. And when this misinformation comes from someone that is seeking office as a councillor? Well, I really have to be more selective of where I mark my ballot in this upcoming election.

Hey! "Uh Yeah", "Sarnia Lifer", and "leisha". Why don't we all get together and s#oot the s#it somewhere? I have the feeling that "ALL" of you think you know me. (Or at least "of" me?)
I've read all of your comments and can live with everything.
We can talk about anything. No matter what happens? We will all get by!
Peace! DG
P.S. - Would an on line "real time" chat be any better? I know of some chat services where you can use actual voice! (And Cams too!)

Although, I would put Ronald McDonald in the same league as Josh and Derek. Or for that matter, even in the same league as Smokey the Bear. Remember! Only you can prevent forest fires. Okay, on a serious note, Ronald McDonald is a fictitious character created by marketing people to sell a product. A mayor is a real person elected by citizens to lead our city. So to answer your question, only if he loses the election in November.

I started looking into the loacal situation when I heard Mike talking about council wanting to sell city parkland. I saw Joe being in favour. I also saw the Port Sarnia idea as a bad one for all except the backers. If the city gave valuable land and it didn't work out, where will we be. I don't think Sarnia can sustain anything like it.
We need a large outdoor area to run Bayfest and possibly other similar events, Rock, Country etc , to bring in people. The Stokleys proved it can work and the point lands would be a bit further away from Front street.
I remember coming to Sarnia in the early 1990's, things were realy bad, even Lambton mall was closing stores. We have come a long way. Don't tell me Bradley did a bad job!
The local gouvernment is not in a position to sway Corperations like Bayer, Dow, Shell etc. Not even with dynamic and personable Joe at the helm.
How long will Joe stay, 4 years and pass the baton to AMG or John Vollmar?
